This video was made during a trip to the Kruger National Park. The Secretary Bird walks across the veld and stamp the ground with its strong legs looking for small animals or insects. This bird was found in the grasslands north of Satara.

According to Roberts VII, there are an estimate of 250 Secretary Birds in the Kruger National Park.

One of my best nature memories, is seeing a secretary bird attacking and killing a small snake. It is incredible how hard they can hit with those long legs of theirs. The sound could be clearly heard some 10 meters away.

We've been lucky with Secretary Bird sightings in KNP - but our best sightings were, of course, in KTP! Here's one of the pic's:

Very nice sighting Leeukos. I have only had 1 sighting of a Secretary bird in KNP. This was in Dec and north of Mopani off the S 144 and it was on the top of a tree
