Sandwich Tern

Unread postby arks » Sat Feb 28, 2009 11:56 pm

There's a place I really enjoy on the False Bay side of Cape Point, I think its the spot called Bordjiesrif, where at the far northern end of the car park, there's a tidal basin and rocky beach where there are always lots and lots of terns, primarily swift terns with a few sandwich terns mixed in. I always stop there to spend some time watching these flocks wheeling over the water and often squabbling amongst themselves.

Hiya Justin!! Oh dear.... I do apologise. I was staying with elder daughter in GHT last Saturday till Thursday morning. Unfortunately rest of family don't quite get the birding quirk..... so ended up being more of a tourist and shopaholic.

Quick trip to Settler's Monument, Bot gardens and managed to squeeze in trip to Kenton and Port Alfred on last day.

Oh - thanks for the ident.... dare I submit any more?
