When you ask for an identification of an unknown species, please give as much info as possible.

Do not just post a photo!

Where did you see this animal? (National Park, area of the country.)
In what habitat was it? (Rocks, tree, mountainous, grasland, etc.)
What size was it approx.?
Was it alone?
What was it doing?
What time of year / season was it?

Anything that can help with an id!

 LOL
Sorry gotta laugh.

Between myself and Deefstes we've asked this on numerous occasions and people just don't respond. Maybe we should start ignoring the pics where there aren't any info included? Maybe the people will then get the hint. Wish it wouldn't be necessary though.

 Good idea ... wish it would have worked!

But we will battle on!

Maybe the mods could make the request a sticky ... might just help ... sometimes!

Both myself and francoisd opened threads about this way back, it has been a problem for a long time and maybe as Imberbe stated it should be made into a sticky

I don't think that's important!
However - "hopping in a tree" - apparently a one legged little brown fellow??

Of course it is. Some of usually found alone, and some seldom. Can sometimes be the only discerning clue between two very closely related species.

Hi Marius.
Yes, of course. My apology; I was just trying to be a little humorous.
However, you prompt me include another important observation when I submit a request for ID.
Best regards, Otto.
