After I read the birding index I did not find something similar but if there is please forgive me.

I was watching a documentary yesterday about Cheetahs when in the documentary there was some great bird sightings which did not even get a mention, so I had the idea of starting a birding list of mine with bird sightings I saw on documentary's. I love birds very much but in the city it gets a bit hard sometimes, that is when I am in the city. I saw for example :Wattled crane ; Verreauxes eagle-owl; Korri- bustard etc. yesterday and it made me check up on some bird's and sounds I did not recognize as it was filmed in a different country. I think this could be fun if anybody cares to join me...
What do you guys think?

That's how the birding bug bites. Soon you will be watching birds and notice something in the background, maybe a lion or rhino :D

I have not 'formalized' this, but also look for and listen for birds in doccies, and some sports events like the Leopard's Creek golf!
I also have seen YBK's in Indian cricket!

The was an article i saw on ODP about a guy interviewed in the Uk with somewhere in the region of 10000 species recorded off Tv it was about armchair twitching i will try to trace it and post it but it certainly has a following overseas, i may be wrong on the figure but will try to update.

Sounds interesting. Armchair travelling is a source of great pleasure to many, and armchair bird watching should be no different.
