Thanks gatita :gflower: I hadn't, but I think that you are right. It would seem that the rattling cisticola is as ubiquitous in the northeast as the Levaillant's cisticola is in the southwest .... :hmz:

I'm a complete newbie with birds so hopefully I don't look really stupid :wink:

Is this bird a magpie shrike?
So far I can't find other pictures where they have this white speckles on the face?
Unfortunately I don't have a better picture, it wouldn't turn to the camera...

I'm no expert, but it certainly looks like a magpie shrike to me.

Seen this bird in March in Kgalagadi. Could it be a spottet flycatcher or is it a juvenile bird?
