Thanks Roan but my Sasol birdbook says It does occur in KTP (in fact almost the total SA) must be mistake

Sorry CW used another book (Oberprieler & Cillie) which shows it doesn't occur in that area. SASOL however states that it does.
Still, it doesn't look like a Peregrine to me.

Lots of Juv Lanner in the KTP at the moment. We spotted 4 individuals just around one waterhole close to Nossob. Another clue is the pale head were Peregrine has an all dark head...and pinkish wash to the breast.

Quite a few immature martials also.

Since there's so many Juv. Martials flying by, is this another one?

I'm unsure of your last 2 pics. But I'm sure the experts on here will be able to tell you soon.

I agree with your first 3 pics being juvy PCG's.

The next 2 are indeed Steppe Buzzards. I think it's the slight white mark or tip at the top of the wing that gives these guys away

for the juv PCG... almost no problem... but the others...

Agree on there being quite afew juvenile pale chanting goshawks in the mix. I'm not sure about the Steppe Buzzards, as it is quite late in the year, and most would have migrated. Have you considered juvenile Jackal buzzard for the more stocky brown raptors? The last one is probably an accipitor of sorts.

I saw a bird that looked just like your number 4. It was in the air and had black wingtips. The underwing matched exactly to the Steppe buzzard in the book.

I was surprised that it hadn't yet gapped it up north, then realized it was a bit light and probabaly a juvenile, that was not yet ready to breed and liked it down south!

Rookie I agree that the first 3 are all PCGs. The next two I tend to agree with adrianp that they are juv Jackal Buzzards. Note the yellow eyes which point towards them being juv birds, and due to the more solid brown colouring of them, and especially the rufous colouring of the 1st one, I would go with Jackal Buzzards. The last two pics I think are also PCGs due to those long legs.

Yours also look more like Jackal Buzzards to me BB. Here are a few differences that I've observed in the field:

Steppe Buzzards usually show a much more prominent dark trailing edge to the wings than this.

Steppe Buzzards also usually don't have completely white secondaries like these birds do. They usually have some brown markings on their secondaries.

Also the underwing coverts look too uniformly marked to be Steppe Buzzard.

The rufous colouring of these birds also points towards Jackal Buzzard.
