Tinkerbird: Red-Fronted

Unread postby Peter Betts » Sat Oct 28, 2006 3:43 pm

At our East Cape Forum meet last Saturday at Addo I was shown an old tree where this little bloke below is nesting and feeding young with an endless supply of little insects. I took a few pics one of which is below but they are not ideal as they were handheld and the flash was too powerful and i didnt have my big lens on at the time. So I'm off to Addo tomorrow (had enough of aeroplanes!) and I'm taking the heavy artillery plus proper fill in flash plus tripod and cable release. Hopefully I will get some improved shots while and if they are still feeding...I'll cry if they are not! Watch this space in the next couple of days for possible shots of this great little bird with its distinctive call.
