Location: In the Place Of Gold...
Habitat: Woodland, savanna, forest edge, urban and suburban areas, open grassland; usually at lower elevations.
Habits: In pairs when breeding; otherwise in flocks often with other swifts and swallows.
Forages over woodland or grassland.
Flight more agile and darting than that of Greater striped swallow, but not as quick as that of Eurasion swallow and with more gliding.
Highly vocal when flying and when perched, often perching on wires or leafless twigs on tree tops.
Food: Aerial arthropods; arils of Acacia cyclops seeds.

They have nests in the rafters of the rondavels at Addo. They sit on the rafters briefly at evening and then fly off and return. I think they are annoyed at the squatters who inhabit the rondavels for a few days at a time!

These birds had a nest at our hut in Biyamiti. Was very nice to hear them the whole time we were there.
