JohanN an immature comb duck the green wing patch and white eybrow strip are 2 good indicators and the immatures are this brownish streaky colour. the comb only becomes evident on maturity and at breeding time it becomes more prominent.
this bird is in an alert, raised upright stance so giving the appearance of being bigger than it is
