Going there this weekend! :dance:

Will report on condition, roads etc when I come back.

Hopefully a lot of pictures too :hmz:

Will be camping at Bontle.

We are also going to Marakele this Sunday for 3 nights! Cannot wait to be there! Maybe we will see eacht other somewhere in the park!

Sitting in my chair, looking at the waterhole where zebras, kudu and warthog comes around. Had 2 giraffes this morning, and 6 rhinos between the tents last night. Some only 4 meters away......

Hi All,

This will be my first try at a report, so please bear with me.... :pray:

The entrance to Marakele, right hand side of the booms.

The left side of the entrance, were there is some info regarding Marakele, Maps and about the eco trail.

The sign at the turn off to Bontle camping site.

This was how we did it...

A lazy weekend as you can see...

The general condition of the camp was not what we had experienced the previous year. The grass were long, "bossies" everywhere, and the bathrooms not up to standard.
But ....
On the monday we left, while busy loading the trailer, a certain Miss. Miriam came through the camp, stopping at all the campers. She first greeted us with a big smile, really friendly.
She then made a excuse about the condition of the camp, but explained that several of her staff was off sick. She was actually busy cleaning the bathrooms herself!! :clap:

and also cleaning the dustbins!! :clap:

After that, we totally understood, and assured her that we will come back to Marakele.

The view from our chairs towards the waterhole.

The little rhino that sandeep also reported on, allegedly 10 days old when we were there.

Various types of animals came to drink during the day, all within sight.
