Golden Gate: Hotel Restaurant

Unread postby WillUS » Tue Aug 10, 2010 6:22 pm

I was planning on staying in either Glen Reenen camp or the Basotho village, but was concerned about meals, is the hotel restaurant open to the public?

Yes it is. Have stayed in Glen Reenen and eaten at the restaurant myself.

Hi WillUS,

Just stayed at the hotel over the long-weekend (7-9 August).
The restaurant serves only buffet meals at R140 per person. The buffet is not very comprehensive but is adequate.
There's a lounge on the reception level serving salads, toasts, etc. Prices reasonable but slow service!

Enjoy.

Brandwag hotel meals

Can one go and have the occasional meal at the Brandwag Hotel if you are staying elsewhere in the park, or is the restuarant exclusively for the hotel guests?

Hi susank. Yes you can. We stayed in Glen Reenen in April and went for supper at the hotel.

Thanks Ifubesi and Imberbe. I want to bring my parents (in their eighties) with us, and knowing that we can have some meals at the hotel makes the packing easier and the best of all..... it gives me extra time to enjoy the peace and nature around us!
