Hi all. Just wondering, is there electricity at the tented camp?
Need to charge batteries and stuff.

Bushmaster, by saying tented camp are you not referring to the Limpopo Forest tented camp? That is a different camp to Mazhou.

yes, sorry. I didnt realise there is another tented camp. But the link does say each camp has power.

Limpopo forrest camp....

DQ, I used your search, but nothing still.

but are they talking about LFTC? I see the units have a ceiling fan, so assuming they have power points?

They are referring to the campsites and not the tented camp. I assume that if it has a kitchen it should have plugs unless the fridge and stove run off gas.

I'm sure someone on the forum who has been there can assist.

Hello BushMaster. Yes, there is electricity in the Tented camp. I don't no the exact set-up of the powerpoints, but there's at least the lights, the fan and the fridge that need power. :wink:

Thanks Joel, we should be able to make a plan and charge cameras.

The main thhing is keeping the beer cold.

Perhaps you should also consider getting a car charger (they run off the cigarette lighter) for your camera batteries. Then you don't have so many worries about electricity in the camp. :wink:

Hi Arks, yes, I have looked at that and I need to install a full dual battery system to run a fridge, lights and inverters and so on. Apparently its not just a case of getting a charger for the car, like a cell phone.

Its quiet a big project, and we off to Mapungubwe next weekend.

Unless I have been misinformed. Do you have such a charger?

The car charger for camera batteries is a very simple affair and yes I do have one and always bring it with me to SA. You should be able to get one at most camera shops? Or do a google search? I got mine two years ago, so don't recall the details.

Limpopo Forest tented camp has electricity, you will be fine for keeping beers cold and charging batteries, (Eskom and ellies permitting) :wink:
