First time poster on this forum, although I've read many threads in the past, mostly KNP forum.
We frequently visit Golden Gate. We love hiking and climbing. My question is as follows: Can Ribbokkop be ascended, i.e. is there a route up to the summit, and is this allowed. I know the Ribbok trial passes by closely (from the map, we haven't done that one).
This is after all the highest peak in the park and from what I read the highest in the Free State. If there is no route it should not pose a problem as we are experienced climbers/sloggers in the Drakensberg area. The question however remains whether SANparks will allow such activities.

Thanks for that correction, that is interesting indeed. There seems to be some confusion w.r.t that, as a lot of internet based searches states Ribbok to be the highest. A quick search on Namahadi indeed shows it to in the Free State (albeit on the border) and it is indeed listed at 'peakbagger' as Free State's highest.
We are on a sort of quest to 'bag' all the 9 Provinces highest peaks (Not that NorthWest and Gauteng's peak's leave much of a challange..).
