Hi,

We will only be staying for two nights at Tsitikamma, would love to stay longer but time is limited. There is a lot of info on the Storms river camp compared to the natures valley, anybody stayed in the forest huts at natures valley recently, how was your experience?

Has anybody stayed there in July before? asking because will it be too wet and cold to stay in a forest?

I know storms river has a restaurant, does natures valley?
Can one braai outside the forest huts?

I know alot of questions, but not to sure what to expect,
Thank you :D

Natures Valley was a provincial reserve - De Vasselot - until recently when it was consolidated into Tsitsikamma .
As such the accomodation is not as luxurious but very cosy and priced accordingly . I would still say go to it because it is such a magical forest setting . I saw Blue Duiker there .
There are resaurants etc. in the little town of Natures Valley which is just retirement and holiday homes and paradise itself .
And you can definatly braai as well .
Weather on the southern coast is very changeable - beautifull days until a cold front comes up and through then you stay indoors but it is over quickly .

I would not like to have to choose between the two! Both are lovely, but very different.

We were in Storms River last year in July, and had good whale sightings.

We have stayed in the forest huts in Storm's River and at Nature's Valley.

Both camps are lovely. I would have great difficulty in choosing. Nature's Valley has the Groot River flowing by your front door. You have a wonderful huge sandy beach but I don't think you'll be spending much time on it in July. There is a small restaurant in the town of Nature's Valley.

Storms River is busier, being more popular and has more activities. The view from the camp is awesome. In winter time I'd rather stay at Storms River.
