Aparanty this is an excellent spot to come and do some birding!! I know that Narina Trogan is seen here as well as a lot of other forest associated birds. Does anyone have advice on the best places to stay, where in the park to go birding, what birds to expect etc.
Thanks,

BM

Don't believe any stories about the NT, BM. They are lies, it is a mythical bird
We stayed at ebb & flow south, a delightful camp. The park spreads out east from there and there are a few hides along the dirt roads in amongst the houses and lakes.
Speciality - Knysna turaco (lourie)

Wilderness is a wonderful place for birds, especially Kingfishers. We stayed at the Ebb&Flow North camp and we loved it. Or maybe it was the South
camp, I can't even remember, but I don't think it matters a bit.

Hi BB, We had an awesome trip down there again and picked up Red-necked Spurfowl in Wilderness as a lifer.

We also had an awesome sighting of African Emerald Cuckoo at Woodville forest, just north of Wilderness!

Birding was great. on the Half-collared Kingfisher trail I had lovely sightings of Cape Batis, Blue-mantled Crested Flycatcher, Terrestrial Brownbul, Olive Woodpecker, Knysna Turaco and Forest Canary to name a few.

It is really a great place to bird at. :D

Indeed a great place anytime. :D

Walking along the Touw's river is some spirit soothing exercise of note. What a beautiful place.

On the giant Kingfisher trail I came across a few Southern Tchagras. Looks like a good spot to find them.

Batmad, I think I saw Blue mantled crested Flycatcher every time I walked the Half-collared Kingfisher trail.

Well it won't be the greater spotted Bush Baptist. That one is negotiating to go to Kruger as we speak. The lucky ones at Matambeni might see it though.

 While the lucky few might get to see the most elusive BB in KNP - maybe and just maybe Munchkin might be sooo ever sooo fortunate to spot the elusive "Narina Trogan" - with pic to verify! We wait and see!
