MZNP: Where to stay

Unread postby mariek » Sun Apr 07, 2013 10:29 pm

Hi everyone,

I have been dutifully following your excellent advice about which tents to choose in Spekboom and Addo - now it's time to book MZP. Do you have any recommendations for favuorite cottages that I should request - or are they all amazing?

Many thanks in advance for your help

Marie

Marie, from what I saw all the cottages are quite amazing. My own choice is always as far away from the main area as possible. It is also slightly higher up the "mountain". It really is a Park that offers stunning views for everyone.

No. 20 would be my favourite as it is the last one in the row,
like MM suggested the furthest away from the main area.
Other than that I think they all offer good views and look the
same inside.

We stayed in number 20 last year and the only down side was that all the cars drove up and turned around there, so you had to really park your car "under" one of those bushes to leave enough space for these people to turn.

Sabi009, firstly I am
secondly, you will be sorry if you do not stay another night.

We stayed there in Jun'11 and also in FA4. The lounge area got a 'kaggel' with a slide door at the back to warm up the sleeping room and heats it up nicely. Make use of this 'luxury' and enjoy.

There are plenty of game, we got to see a caracal late morning right in front of us in the road, cheetah, aardwolf, buffs, gemsbok and the beautifull Mountain zebra - just stunning. The routes in the park is most enjoyable to drive and your RunX will do it easy. Enjoy!

Do not forget to stop at Daggaboer just outside Craddock on your ay to PE - rated as best farmstal - nice stuff - roosterkoek etc yummy. There dagga normaly sold out very early in the morning. :naughty:

Hopefully next year we will pay MZNP a visit. :hmz:
Now active - TMNP: Table Mountain's mood today + West Coast NP: Aug'15 visit
