Beautiful photo, RonnieL. We are in the Addo for a few days, saw many kudus, ellies and warthogs. Where can we expect to see lions? Sleeping at Matyholweni tonight. Enjoying and loving every moment!

Hi Diesel,

I have recently had very good sightings of lions in the southern section around road markers 31 & 32. As these animals move around it is always advisable to check the animal sightings board at Jack's Picnic Site for the latest sightings. :)

I wish you all the best and I am sure you will have an enjoyable stay in the southern section.
Looking forward to receiving your feedback and seeing your posts here.
All the best
Ronnie

Hi Diesel,
If when you arrive at Jack's P S the sightings board has been cleared of sightings you can always speak to the SANParks man on site.

Jack's is always a nice place to stop and have a comfort break.
I always stop there to stretch my legs, have some coffee and dip 'n ouma or two :w:
I also love listening to all the bird song there :note: and the smaller little critters you find there.
It is a beautiful morning here in Port Elizabeth and I am sure it is the same there in Addo.
I wish I was out there..........

Sorry to read this :(
Today is not finished, many times I am surprised by very good sightings late in the afternoon on my way out of the Park.
Tomorrow is another day and my suggestion is get into the Park as early as possible.
Early morning and late afternoon is a very good time to see the lions and other animals before they go to the shade during the heat of the day :)
Do have a good evening

Diesel, according to my experience from our late March trip,
I'd say go the same roads where the lions have been spotted
(according to sighting board) up and down again and again and again.
It worked very well for us. Right, Ronnie?

BTW, I read on some Addo Lions thread that Matyholweni is supposed
to have a sighting board by now. It was a post from Megan from January 2011
that said a sighting board was to be put up within the (then) next 2 weeks.
Does it exist by now?
I never picked that up before we stayed there and consequently didn't go and search for it.
Summer 2014 - Oz! It was awesome!

Diesel
You should be on the road by now. Do both the Vukani and Mbotyi Loops and I hope you are successful today.
Wish I was there!
