Thanks Jan, I spent 4 days at Cubitje Quap while camping at Nossob taking photos of the 2 Jackal catching the Sand Grouse. They were very successful and caught 3 to 4 each per morning. In between they managed to steal some from the Lanners as well!

Jan, there were 2 jackal, this male and a female. The male was grabbing them from the air as they came in to land. The female waited until they landed and were sitting in the water, then run in and catch them as they flew off. The male was successful early in the "sand grouse" time but as they took evasive action by landing next to the waterhole and walk closer the female became more successful.

I will try to post a photo of her tomorrow
