Hi Everybody :D

Just been lucky to get 3 nights at Kalahari Tented Camp, 31 Dec - 3 Jan   in a FAMILY DESERT TENT (FDT4).

Last time that we stayed in this wonderful camp, we did not have a view on the waterhole. I would like to make a special request this time.

Any recommendations for a FDT4 with a view on the waterhole? It's summer and with the heat I shall probably be up all night - watching

Thanks  Leana

Hi Leanawel.
What ever you do try to avoid number 8.
It has a tree right in front of it that obscures the waterhole completely.
The waterhole is floodlit now so a view is definately a plus.

Numbers 7 and 9 have good views and are the closest to the waterhole.
I do not know whether they are FDT4 type tents.

Whichever one you get,it is a great camp overlooking the riverbed and also has amazing sunsets.
Enjoy your trip.

 Thanks Roaneric and Enrico

I am going to phone and ask whether 7 or 9 is a FDT4 type and try to get one of them.

I am really quite excited to end 2012 and begin 2013 in the Kalahari desert

Okay, not entirely accommodation, but it will give you an idea of what Twee Rivieren looks like.
This is what the bungalows on the right of the reception look like: Click.

Mind you, this is a panoramic photo, 900 KB, so a bit larger. You can click (once) on the photo to see it full-size, and scroll through it. It covers a bit more than 270 degrees.
Arriving currently: The photos from our trip! Overhere! :yaya:

Hi,
I am going in April and will spend 3 nights each in Nossob and KTC:
Question - can anyone recommend good unit number in Nossob for CH4 and KTC for DTZ2?
Many thanks in advance!

James-of all the accommodations i stayed in at KTP I liked the CH4 at Nossob the least
They are all in the front, some have the braiis and patio areas in the back but one has it on the side-offering no privacy at all
As far as the room went,it was big enough. What I didn't like was the fact that the main sleeping room had doors on each side separating it from the sleeping porch and the kitchen/bathroom area
I was there in March-even with the doors open between the rooms it was airless, esp bad at night when the electricity went off
Other times of year it might not be so bad
I liked the location of the CH3's myself,at the back side of the camp, very private

Hi All,

any ideas about which of the two bedroomed units at Nossob is better? The family chalet (FA6) or the Guesthouse (GH4)?

Thanks

Here are some photo's of Haak en Steek camp in Mokala NP.
The unit sleeps 4. 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other has 2 single beds. Both have a bathroom en-suite (toilet, basin & shower). Fully equipped kitchen with fridge & cooker / oven. All gas and solar energy - NO electricity.
You have exclusive use of the unfenced camp. it has its own waterhole in front of the bungalow. There is a lapa / braai area.
There is also an adjoining camp site that has 6 stands and separate ablutions. The unit can only be reserved by one party at a time so exclusive use guaranteed.
