Well camera's clean and new batteries in. The cams have been put out at Samevloeiing and Houmoed. Once we arrived at Houmoed there was a leopard sitting in the tree and we had to wait until she walked over the dunes before we could get out and place the cam trap
I have had a cam trap at the back gate of the camp and quite interesting pics which was taken.....Lion and Leopard smelling the gate (Will post pictures soon)

Hi Jannie,

Saw your cam at Houmoed on Friday, but no leopard in the tree. Maybe I will see her soon on the cam.

Those gate pics will be interesting indeed. :hmz:

Morning All,

The other cams at the respective waterholes will be retrieved next week and then we would have to see what was caught on camera.

Looking at the pics and timing of the pics do you really think that is a 'Leopard walking towards the gate' at 05:13, when a lion is there 7 minutes later?

I would think that is a lioness, who was accompanied by the lion (looks like one too!!) :hmz:

GlynB,

Great Observation, we have had that conversation between the Section Ranger, Bio technician and me. We decided not to make n 100% ID since there were behaviour which shows that it was leopard and some things which tend towards lioness.
