Here we go again....

The beginning of what could have been the end of a Camera Trap.
Image

This picture shows where the camera has been taken out of the termite mount and where one cub is on his back playing with it.

After this picture everything went black and no pictures were taken again.
This pride is now known as the Rooiputs gang.

You will note that it seems afterthe first bite, thecamera have reset itself on its date and time.

I have got Lion pictures close to the termite mount and also Cheetah, i was just looking for the leopard to be close to the mount. Hannes Lochner just come to tell me that he saw the new leopard at Leeuwdril was actually sitting on the termite mount last night but unfortunately no pictures

Will see if i can retrieve the Leeuwdril cam this week maybe just maybe we have a picture of the female leopard.

I hope the cam is fine since it is the cam which is at Leeuwdrill at the moment with the second one at Houmoed.

Rooiputs gang indeed!

The leopard is clever, going round the back.

Maybe get some mileage by showing this to the manufacturer KG, for advertising, and maybe get a complimentary camera to test?

WOW, they pretty much trashed it inside - I know how hard you have to hit the metal stake into the ground to secure it - and its ripped out  - and these are just cubs - makes you think .... how much damage a fullgrown lion can do ...

Stunning leopard photo by Hannes !

Wow! - naughty kitties - :naughty:
Thanks KG for all your hard work  :D - It's great seeing what's happening in the KTP on almost a daily basis.
I almost can't believe :o how much the KTP has come to mean to me  - even after just one visit - reading all the trip reports sand formite comments and seeing the pics that you put up make me feel like I'm "home" although at the moment I'm feeling very heartsore because we have had to cancel our planned September trip  :( :wall:
Looking forward to more pic

Nah, methinks it's way too small for her to sit on  - will post a few of her up in a tree when things get back to normal now that we are back home.

KG you must find a better way to distract them from the flash of the cams - maybe tie something harmless loosely around the outside of the mount to keep them occupied?

Saw Hannes on our way out from Rooiputs filming awc - mom and three young playing up on the ridge - I only managed a few evidence shots.

TR will follow soon - all I can say for now is that instead of racing around the park I followed my own advice and did the shorter, slower drives; TR - Leeudril, TR - Kij-Kij, TR - Auchterlonie, routes on a daily basis - so I can blame Jannie for telling me upfront that there are many predator activity around the area

Hehehehehe, mebbe Jannie should follow his own advice - stay put, don't walk/drive away from the action
