Thank you

I will ask again just before we go just to confirm conditions.

Is this on the N7 or the R27?

The amount of stops will determine the route.
I have to drive from Langebaan to Augrabies for our first stopover and won't be going to fast.
Did it the previous time to Augrabies via the N7.
Now the N7 also has road works and lots of trucks.
I do hope that the R27 will be better by then.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the smaller stop goes will be closed, so then you won't need to stop. Only the bigger ones are still in operation!

By May month we should have traveled down to CT a few time, I should have more up to date info by then!

As I said earlier my first stopover is Augrabies and then off to Nossop.
I now heard that it will be a a very long drive.
I worked on about 8 hours but other people say it's more like 11 hours.
Has anyone else done it like that.

We travelled via the N7/R27 on 6th March and although we didn't count the stop/go's there were plenty. We only had to stop a few minutes at most of them, but it added over an hour to the journey.

Has anyone recently cross the Garieb river between Kenhardt and Upington? Any floods? On our way to KNP next Friday.

Just returned on Monday 24th March.

LOTS of Stop/Go's between Citrusdal and just before Calvinia. Nothing after that. But it definitely added 1hr to the drive time.

It took me 12hrs each way with very little stopping.

There were no problems with any rivers/flooding.

Thanks! I was told N7 is just as pad to Springbok. But still rather do this than doing the Tankwa dirt road. We will be heavily loaded.

Came from Twee Rivieren to Cape Town yesterday via Calvinia. Between Vanrhynsdorp and Calvinia the road is fine with a short stop and go at Niewoudtville. Between Vanrhynsdorp and Citrusdal is a different story, I lost count after 10 stops. From Klawer to Kamieskroon they are busy tarring the shoulder of the road so also lots of stop and go. If you want to stick to tar then option 1 is to go via Calvinia and just plan for the hour you will loose between Citrusdal and Vanrhynsdorp. Option 2 is R27, Elandsbaai, Lambertsbaai, Strandfontein, Lutzville, Vredendal and then Vanrhynsdorp. Then you will have the 50 km or so Transnet "tollroad" sections of gravel.
