this is unbelievable

The Kalahari must have been incredible good to you this year

For such a sighting I would lend you more than willingly our wild dog magnets

..........

We will give it a try again in May, maybe after that we are so depserate that we need it

Well that's it....
I had the sighting all to myself for nearly an hour, only then another car arrived.
I left the den at 7am, after gorgeous nearly 1 1/2 hours

And I know that there is another forumite who arrived just minutes after that and by then they had dragged the carcass back down again, so I know that there are more pics in one of the trip reports to come

The little hyaena is so cute and Mummy's belly really looks filled.

And what is pleasing is to see that the little Hyaena cub has actually started to grow, and is also now changing colour. I was a bit concerned at it's size when we were there. It's looking very healthy after that meal !

I was just reading in the Kgalagadi book that they had Aardvarks, but never expected to see pictures so soon as this.....

There aren't any words strong enough to express how amazing I find this sighting! Shame for the aardvark being caught, but still magnificent to see. KTP seems to be hot at the moment...

The little one looked great. Everybody was very caring and as soon as he strolled too far from the others someone was there to tell him/her to come back again...

As you know KTP is always hot and is always full of wonders....

Hi Katja. What an amazing report and photos!! (I can't get the video). When we stayed in Grootkolk in early-May 2010 (in nos. 1 & 2) we thought we had the ultimate lion viewing, with 5 coming between our cabins, but your experience has certainly beaten ours!!!

The hyena report is also stunning. What a shame that your first aardvark was a dead one - but it did give you a wonderful experience.

I am now even more excited about our next trip to KTP in Sept/Oct 2011 - we will be staying at both Grootkolk and Urikaruus and hope to have some good sights!

Just caught up with this now.......What a fantastic lions all over experience! Thx for sharing this amazing experience with us I am sure this will stay with you forever. How exciting this must have been . The pics are wonderful, and the video takes us into the action.

wow, those are really special pics! an Aardvark I see your photos and sightings as well as others from KTP and I get this urge to drive there immediately Maybe December Is that a good time to visit?
