Ok, if you are not interested in me... I am not interested in you

Image Larger View

Uuuhh, what's that ?!....

Image Larger View

Then Mum dragged the carcass up the hill and out of sight for me...

Image Larger View

Just checking if there is nothing left down at the den....

Image Larger View

Well that's it....
I had the sighting all to myself for nearly an hour, only then another car arrived.
I left the den at 7am, after gorgeous nearly 1 1/2 hours 8)

And I know that there is another forumite who arrived just minutes after that and by then they had dragged the carcass back down again, so I know that there are more pics in one of the trip reports to come

AMAZING KATY !

And what is pleasing is to see that the little Hyaena cub has actually started to grow, and is also now changing colour. I was a bit concerned at it's size when we were there. It's looking very healthy after that meal !

There aren't any words strong enough to express how amazing I find this sighting! Shame for the aardvark being caught, but still magnificent to see. KTP seems to be hot at the moment... 8)

Hi Katja. What an amazing report and photos!! (I can't get the video). When we stayed in Grootkolk in early-May 2010 (in nos. 1 & 2) we thought we had the ultimate lion viewing, with 5 coming between our cabins, but your experience has certainly beaten ours!!!

The hyena report is also stunning. What a shame that your first aardvark was a dead one - but it did give you a wonderful experience.

I am now even more excited about our next trip to KTP in Sept/Oct 2011 - we will be staying at both Grootkolk and Urikaruus and hope to have some good sights!
