AstroMatt wrote:@ Lion Queen...Cruisa has emailed me the sighting (thanks). I can confirm that it is a new leopard.

We are working on getting the guide updated at the moment. So watch this space.
Cheers

Matt, it would be nice if people would also post their pix ON the leopard ID thread, so that the rest of us might see the pix. I realise that your main interest is your guide and not the forum thread, but it would be appreciated if the thread might also include photos, most especially when it is a new leopard. Many of us DO follow that thread, but don't consult/print updates of your guide. And after all, it is this forum and that thread that both originated the leopard ID project and generated much/most of the info for your guide, so it only seems fitting that the info should continue to appear ON the forum and ON the leopard ID thread.

Arks, i totally agree with you and i believe that all the leopards (with the exception of some of the very old historical leopards and the new one posted above by Cruisa) are on the leopard identification thread, i've just been given permission to post photos of the new male by the photographer (who's not on the forum) and plan to do this in the next few days.
The thread is a vital part of the project and i do encourage people who email me to post their pictures in the ID thread. However, many of my submissions are now from people that don't use the forum and so many of these pictures will not appear....but i do try and keep it as up to date as possible with information and pictures relating to the project (as can be seen by my posts).

Thanks for your reply, Matt. I do understand that submissions from people not involved with the forum can't be included here, I was only concerned that leopards that are reported on the forum, but not on the ID thread, should also be included in the ID thread. Glad to know that you're trying to make that happen

@ arks, Cruisa did post his sighting on the Leopard ID topic this morning and from the mods side we'll copy some of the postings in this topic to the Leopard topic too.

Just returned from a wonderful stay in the park.
On 8 November I had a good sighting of a leopard 3 km South of Urikaruus. I think it was the one known as Tshidi.

Give me a few days to unpack, wash the laundry and download all my photos to my computer first.
Not sure it was Tshidi but the experts on this forum will be able to verify.
So far I have only this photo available but I have a few more on my memory cards.

Looks like you had some good sightings from those pictures Katja.
Anne-Marie is quite correct when she says you saw Tshidi
Would you mind posting this in the leopard id thread so the others following it can see the sighting. If you could also report it on my website (see my signature below) then i can get all the necessary details.
Thanks

Hi Katja,

I thought you will be staying until end of Nov so that we can say hi this time and not drive passed you. Would love to know what you have seen during your visit.
