Hi KG

Lovely to get all the exciting news from Kgalagadi!

I know it is out of your way, so if anybody else can help -- what are the latest important dens/cubs/cheetah families to look out for at Mata Mata?
I am going there in exactly a month's time with a group of 14 school kids -- our annual Helderberg High School Photography Club outing. It would help a lot if somebody could give me some updates on cheetahs like Elena, or any other tips on the latest animal movements, rainfall etc.
Are there still any eland left in the south from last year's big migration (I know most are gone from 2 Rivieren, but what about Mata Mata?)
Thanks in advance,

Friedrich von Hörsten

Hi there Friederich,

Unfortunately I haven’t been up to Mata-Mata for a while and have no record of new den sites, I will however ask the field guide there is he knows and will let you know. The eland has moved back into the dunes and Botswana.

KG

I was so happy to read about the Aardvark - too sad it's dead :(

Well, I guess now that the elands are gone, the lions have to look out for other prey........just hope the lioness won't eat a pangolin next

What I want to verify please is, if there any truth in the story that a lion entered the TR camp gate recently! If so, what happened next? Thank you very much KG for all the "extra work" you do to make KTP so interesting for us "mites"! FMJ
