Hi there,

We are actually in the process in building a second !Xerry Trails Camp (close to Cubitje Quab), this will give the guests the option to either sleep one night in each of the two trails camps (Start walking from Nossob camp, walking to the first camp and the next day walking to the 2nd camp and then the last day walking through the Nossob riverbed back towards Nossob camp).

The idea here is to post pictures after every trail and so I will try and do with the 4x4 trail as well.

Hi there,

Sorry i have been away fro three days and only came across the posting now. We await pictures from guests who have been on the trail, since guides dont take pictures on trails as they have to carry their rifles.
The new camp..well im still trying to get it at the spot where I believe is much more predator activities. Logistics is a problem.

KG

Hi KG,

How often do the guides take people on the !Xerry Trail and what time of the year? I am keen to do this trail between 1 - 9 July. Don't worry about the predators I would like to experience just being outside the main camp and watching the stars will be enough to see at night and the smaller creatures by day. Preferable not larger than a honeybadgers if they eat meat.

Well the trail is not being used as much as what I would like. July would be a good time, due to the heat we close the trail in October and open it in April again.

KG,

I read under the activity information that you must be 16 years or older to do the trail. Unforetunately I will have to wait another 4 years before I can book unless I leave SO alone with LO.

Hi there Son Godin,

Unfortunately that is the age restrictions we have and the reason behind it is that you never know how youngsters would react in the dangerous situation as they are more likely to run.

Hi Ndloti,

Its been on the quite side as the trail is not that well known with the people out there. We have been taking about 6 pax per month.

@Ndloti,

The trail occupancy is not what I would like it to be, but i guess that visitors are not yet informed about the trail. The trail is indeed an experience as it covers a beautiful part of the park and it is just amazing to walk for 4 hours in this untouched area.

Hello KG,

Sorry to hear the occupancy is not what you want it to be. Maybe being out in the open is a bit too much wilderness for some people. In a strange way this might have an upside to it in that the guides are probably just as excited to go on the trail as the participants.

We'll be walking the trail from April 11 - April 13 this year and we are very much looking forward to it. Could you inform me about the situation of the second camp near Cubitje Quab?
What is the first camp we are staying in, is this Swartbas? Or some camp that doesn't exist on the map? (I am preparing a detailed map for our travels, I have a bit of a map fetish.)
What is the temperature like on the trail in April? I guess walking gives you a different perspective on what is hot. Will there still be the odd thunderstorm?

Sorry for all the questions, I think I am just building up my own excitement.
