Hello there, Mr KG,

We appreciate that certain numbers are needed, but assuming they are running can we book 2 adult places for the following?

Sunset drive at Nossob on Thursday 01/09/2011
a morning walk at Nossob on Friday the 2nd of September
a morning walk from Twee Riveren on Sunday 04/09/2011

On an entirely separate point, we are coming from the UK and have a few hats and gloves etc, and some tops hopefully-are there any other smallish items that the local communities may find useful?
Is there a place to leave stuff for local communities at TR-we are arriving, next Monday-Hurrah!
regards

where to book a morning walk in KTP?

Unread postby edie88 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 12:05 am

Hello, the French lady again :D

as some of you know, i will spend 6 nights in KTP.
I would like to book at least one morning walk and either:
- a second morning walk and/or a morning drive
Where are the best spots? or where did you enjoy your morning walks more?

morning walk at the Kalahari tented camps and a morning drive at Nossob?
morning walk at the Kalahari tented camps and a morning walk at Nossob too?

Thanks again in advance for your advice
Have a nice day
Edie

Morning edie88,

Regarding your questions on the walks/drives.

The camps which offer the walk are all unique in the areas where walks are conducted; they all differ in landscape and animal sightings. It would be difficult to advise you on the best area/camp.

Maybe some of the mites who have participated in these activities could advise you as per their experience at the different camps.

Hello French lady :D Edie88
As KG says they are all different and I can vouch for that!
We have done a morning walk with KG from Twee Rivieren and from Kalahari Tented Camp.
One cannot describe (or at least I cannot) describe the feeling of walking out there in the middle of the Kalahari. You just have to do a walk to know what I mean!! :D On the Twee Rivieren morning walk we saw no large predators but that did not matter at all. That is not why we went on a walk, we just wanted the experience and WOW, we enjoyed it!! We then so looked forward to our next walk that was from Kalahari Tented Camp.
Another WOW!!!! Amongst all the small creatures , we saw Giraffe walking in the dunes and we walked into a Black maned lion  That made me feel so small and insignificant!! Jannie (KG) correct me if I am wrong....no more than 40 metres away!!

So, to answer your question , if I were you, I would do both if time and circumstances permit
Enjoy , I'm
At home...... dreaming of next trip to KTP

edie88,

I would do a walk before a drive.

You can drive yourself, but you cannot walk without a guide.

Hi Jannie

We will be in KTP again  a couple of days within the first two weeks of November (not booked yet as we just decided to come) and I was wondering if you are there that time of the year and if morning walks are still on, haven't read anything about them lately...?

We did a morning walk with you 2 years ago and would love to do it again :D .

Thanks for your reply and sooooo looking forward to being back.

Petra

Hi there Petra,

It would be great to take you guys out on a walk again, sorry there is so much going on that i do tend to forget to post the latest on the forum regarding walks etc, please forgive me

The day walks are being done all year round, so when you are ready let me know and we do the booking for you.
