Sorry I missed the turn in the weather but so glad our beloved park was blessed with the rains. Luckily I will be back 6 months to experience it all.

PS I today made my reservation for March 2014

The question is, will the rain be of any benefit to the grass and other plants this time of the year. Here in the big city of Welkom, we had 85 mm of rain but the farmers say it is too late for the grass to grow. It will only be of use to those farmers that plant winter wheat. They say it is too cold for any new growth from the grass.

But, the water is good for the underground water table.

Had serious rain over the Easter weekend in Nossob.
According to the info board in camp it added up to 77mm.

Lots of fresh green growth in the river, and even more water and mud in the roads.
There is a detour from rooiputs to kij kij via botswana road.

Don't cut your time to fine heading up to Nossob from TR in the next few days,
The gowing is slow due to the mud.

Had contact with Nossob camp this morning . . . they officially meassured 113 mm
of rain in the camp from 27/3 to the morning of 1/4 !

Just glad I was'nt camping in they lower part of the camp at the time . . . with the
area between the ablution block and the 'riverside fence' flooded.

Dispite the rain, and as previously already mentioned, a farmer on the fringe of the
KTP, said last night in an interview on TV that he does'nt expect a lot of growth of the
grass . . . due to the fact that the night has cooled off dramatically over the last
14 days.

Its going to be a good year for animal sightings for sure during the winter months
to come . . . and looking forward to our " 14-day-camp " awaiting us at Nossob !
