Yes it is suitable for charging cameras...just take all relevant adaptors along. Many people use the plugs for cameras etc.....

Hi AstroMatt,

My daughter and I camped at TR in the April holidays - it was awesome !!

The electricity points do all need those blue adaptors but if you cant find one before you leave, the shop at TR has rows and rows of them for sale - they are behind the till - so hopefully might still have some. We took a long lead and the relevant adaptors and charged our camera batteries and phones inside the tent....

As for the braais - all the sites have those standard SANParks ( I think they are all the same - def the same as in KNP) built-in-braai areas made of cement with a slightly flattish round type of metal braai dish with an attached grid that you can swing around and either raise or lower a bit ...

Enjoy and have a fantastic time in the park

Hi Guy

We are two families heading out to KTP during late September this year from CT, and we are very much looking forward to it, just a few quick questions if possible?
We often camp and are decently equipped, but, you never know what you might need there. We are 4 adults and 4 kids (8-11) and we'll be staying 4 nightst at Twee-Rivieren. The reason is that since we have to set up camp we can't excactly hop around.

Now, some questions:

The road to get to Twee-Rivieren : Is it terrible? One family will have a Nissan Quasqai (Spelling?) and it doesnt have 4x4 but have a decent clearance. Once there we'l be all hop in my raised bakkie so no issue there.

The shops at Tweerivieren : How well equipped are they? We expect to pay premium, thats not the problem, just wondering about it having general commodities you might need?

Twee-Rivieren Ablutions : In what condition are they?

Game : We've been to Kruger a few times and gotten used to "animals at every corner", but we do know this is not the case in KTP. If you had to drive a around Twee-Rivieren every day, would you expect to see some good game? Ie Watering Holes around TR?

Rain : Could we expect rain in KTP during late September?

Thats it for now, we might think of more in good time.

Anwyay, can't wait. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

The road from Upington to Twee Revieren is very good - no issues there

The shops at Tweerivieren : How well equipped are they? We expect to pay premium, thats not the problem, just wondering about it having general commodities you might need?

You will get the basics

Twee-Rivieren Ablutions : In what condition are they?

Good

Game : We've been to Kruger a few times and gotten used to "animals at every corner", but we do know this is not the case in KTP. If you had to drive a around Twee-Rivieren every day, would you expect to see some good game? Ie Watering Holes around TR?

You could see plenty including all the big cats and raptors

Rain : Could we expect rain in KTP during late September?

Possible but unlikely

Thats it for now, we might think of more in good time.

Anwyay, can't wait. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Have a great time

Enjoy your stay.

Why not stay at Nossop or Mata mata? I would rather stay at one of them for better game viewing. :thum Just a thought.
About the shops,
rather buy everything you need outside the park, in Upington maybe. (Wood will cost you R38.00 in the park) In Upington only R17.00. 8)

@Gabriel33,

The Twee Rivieren area is currently very active with predators around (Lion, Leopard and Cheetah), there is also large herds of general game around. In respect with Kruger we might not have animals around every corner although the quality of the sightings is much better, you might be the only vehicle at a predator sighting for a long time and the vegetation is not that dense that the animal will only be seen for a few seconds.
There are some very nice waterholes around Twee Rivieren which could provide stunning animal sightings (as per the sightings board the last week or so).

The road from outside the park to Twee Rivieren is a tar road so there are no problems in getting here.

As mentioned by other mites, rather make sure you do have most of your goodies before coming into the park as the shops does only keep the basics, but enough to get you through your visit.

If there is anything else you would like to know please do not hesitate to ask there are many mites around that would certainly be able to assist.

Just be careful Gabe. :naughty:

Once you have been there, you will be hooked and might even ask Kruger....what?

Gabriel,

the shop is very basic, and some of what we deem basics are not always available -so best take along what you can.

Water in the park is brackish so better to take bottled water for drinking and cooking along. You can buy 5l water at TR, but almost at the price of petrol per litre!

The Nissan will be fine on all the main roads in the Park.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi
The shop at Twee R has varying supplies. Good on booze , less good on fresh veg. Bread variable. Frozen bacon OK, tins very limited.
Game viewing up the Aoub river was brilliant for predators when we were there but nearly all the best sightings were immediately after the gate opened in the morning so delay breakfast and get out there!

Hi Guys

Thanks a lot for the answers.

In fact, we decided to extand our stay to include 3 nights at Nossob too :)

So, very excvited about that.
I would assume Nossob shop is even less stocked? I'll only have a 4x4 freezer (40litres), and that prob be filled with steaks, so I wont have space for much else.

How are the restaurants at 2r and Nossob? Take aways even?

Can't wait. Bring on September!

@Gabriel33,

Unfortunately Nossob doesn’t have a restaurant. Twee Rivieren / Nossob do not have any take a ways.

The shop at Nossob is not at all as well stocked as the shop at Twee Rivieren.

You can buy pies at the shop at 2R Gabe, and maybe they will make you some venison ones if you ask nicely.

Also you can get potbread made (to order) by the staff at Nossob. Ask at reception.
