Good evening!!

My first posting after a while ago!
And it's a real sad one!!
I know,thats nature!!This time very cruel!!

On 19.Oct.,about 10 o'clock in the morning,SO and I were driving to KT Camp and saw this lion under a tree near 13.borehole!He was starring at the ground and did not show any reaction to all the cars, passing him!You could see,he felt sick!One could not see any wounds or body demage!!

I felt sorry for him and thought,he would feel better the next day!
On our morning drive the next day,we were heading to the 13.borehole!
We were really shocked about this sighting!!I still get gooseflesh!
We could hardly belief,what we saw there!!

This was one of the culprits,running home to the den,near Urikaruus with
a full stomach of lion meet!!

This was our sadest sighting ever!!

I hope,we get to know soon,what was wrong with this lion and the one at
Houmoed!!

What a shame... always sad to see these majestic animals go into the game reserve in the sky.....

My wife and I got back yesterday from a 5 night stay in the KTP. We were fortunate enough to spot lions on 3 occasions. Our best sighting was from the viewing point above Kij Gamies, 2 females and one male. They looked in very good condition....

Will be interesting to hear what the lab reports come back with...

Thanks for your welcome and thanks Ingrid for the photos. Yes, it's a hard world...even for lions.I have never seen something like that.
What do you have to do to post photos here ? I don't understand how it works...

Sorry,for writing it like this!!
I know,you are right,but at this time,I witnessed,I felt sorry for the lion!!

The Hyena did not kill the lion!Yes,it's her job and she had three cubs in
the den to feed!
BTW,I like hyenas too!!!

Maybe the lion was dying due to a snake bite? :hmz:

But, on your first photo he looks very thin? This is a mystery! :thumbs_up:

Not a pleasant sight at all, no matter what animal. Hopefully it's nothing that can be transmitted as in KNP.
