My favourite place is there where I can find lions or leopard..
But Marie se draai en Nossob is number 1,
Area around Urikaruus is number 2.
I can't wait to go again to Kgalagadi......

I'll go make up my mind in April. So far I have not been able to isolate a single favourite spot. The diversity in this park (sightings, atmosphere, the mere "looks" of things) is amazing!

First of all i would like to wish all Kgalagadi lovers a very merry christmas and excellent sightings for 2008!

Our favourite spots in KTP are the stretch from leeuwdril to kij kij, the area around Nossob and the Auob valley from Kieliekrankie to Mata Mata.

We will check it out again in february...

Looks like a lot of us have the same favourite spot(s). I hope we don't all go there together. There might be traffic complications

The area around Grootkolk;
The "little loop roads" in the Dalkeith, Craig Lockheart, 13th and 14th borehole area.

But as a one-time KTP visitor, I may develop some other favourite spots with subsequent visits :D :pray:

The areas you have mentioned Dabchick is indeed very good for predators in the Aoub River. Eachj season has its hot spots.

Best: Polentswa waterhole - just far enough from Nossob to be extra quite, and the vegetation is extraordinary, changing from month to month! Diverse birds of prey interacting with birds darting to the hole for a drink, with enough lion, secretary birds, wildebeest, Oryx etc. to entertain, while you sit under the massive camel thorn in your air-con vehicle with your camera and a cold one...

Next: Kwang - closer, but still diverse and you can see for miles in the dryer months...

For an evening "sitting on the stoep" experience: Sitting in the kitchen area of the tented camp, staring over the dry riverbed with the camel thorn stompies crackling away...

Worst (for me at least): Marie se draai - as close to a traffic jam during school holidays as you can get in KTP, and no luck over the past 4 years...
