Sorry for "tresspassing" on your territory Kgalagadi Guru :lol: but I was lying wide awake in our chalet in TR. My wife (again) had a "fight" with a bat at 02:30. So I decided to have a look at the KTP website and noticed the question which I thought I could answer :lol: . We have been coming to the KTP since the 1970's.

Hi there RolfB,

You have not been trespassing at all, I appreciate it very much if there are questions asked and we have mites who can provide an answer so soon. It is sometimes very difficult for me to answer questions due to work commitments (Like this coming week I’m doing Firearm training) and would not be as regular on the forum as I would like to be.

So thanks again

That would be fine to enter TR and exit Mata-Mata. Just make sure you do mention it when entering TR that you will be exiting at Mata-Mata so that they have stamped all the paperwork.

This question might have been ask before but each person's circumstances are different. I would like to know if you can stay in Namibia after travelling through KTP and thereafter do day visits into the park.

Technically you will not stay over in the park, but you are also not leaving the park through the South African Border post at Twee Rivieren.

I had plans to visit Etosha and then enter the park on the 10 July staying until 15 July before exiting at TR. This week I decided to change my plans and got bookings at Nossob from 24 to 30 June. Camp sites are still available at TR from 1 - 9 July, but I would like to see more of Mata-Mata as well. My plan is to book a camp site on a Namibian farm near the border and visit the park daily up to 10 July when I have a booking for a campsite at Mata-Mata.

This means I will stay for more than a week in the park before exiting at Mata-Mata and 5 days after returning to Mata-Mata.

If you stay 2 nights in the park you can exit from a different country that you entered, provided your papers are in order of course.

Day visitors from one country, exiting the same are no problem.
Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".

Hi!

I am planning to drive from SA to Namibia, spend some time there, and then reenter South Africa at the Mata Mata Border, spend some 10 days in the park and then exit from TR.
I think that, after entering in Mata Mata, I will have anyway to go through SA Customs in TR. The question is: can I do that on leaving the park or I will have to drive to TR within a few days from the Mata Mata entrance just to clear with Customs?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Francesco

@Francesco,

When enetering at Mata-Mata you do not have to drive to TR customs for clearance, you can go to Twee Rivieren customs on the day you leave as long as it is withing office hours of the customs department
