This is a fascinating read!!! it tells the story of earth's beginnings from the big bang to present day, 4.6 billion years, from a South African perspective.

It explains those odd hills of stacked rocks in Kruger and many other geological features; gives a whole new perspective to the parks.

It is written by two South African prof's, Terence McCarthy and Bruce Rubidge, the publisher is Struik.

I agree! This is a fascinating book to read!

It tries to explain the formation of planet earth and specifically the area we presently know as Southern Africa in a comprehensive way, without being too technical. The amount of data given is however a little overwhelming for a novice, and it really needs a second read.

Also speaks about the co-development of biological life, with the planet. In this way it again opens your eyes to the importance of the whole eco-system, and not just certain glamour-species.

This book also has the effect to remind one of the mistery of life. Strange for a book aimed at explaining the world we know!

Get this book!
