Koedoe you are also making me very Jealous !!!!!! I live in a 1 bedroom garden cottage at the back of a house in Johannesburg. I have lounge/ kitchen combined, a bathroom with ball and claw bath ,shower and toilet and a bedroom. The cottage was refurbished/ redecorated a few years ago and is very nice! Sort of like Cape Dutch but without the curly bits! on an 1/8 th acre plot so very small garden, but we have peach,pear, avocado and pomegranate trees (1 of each)in the garden and a small splash pool that looks like a fish pond at the moment!! We have a smallish area of lawn and flowers. There are a lot of birds!! They are awake early now that it is summer---0400am!!!The house is on a very busy road so we hear traffic all day long and at night the street lights block out any sight of stars Its a corner stand so we watch people walking past all the time.

We still have pumpkin (about 3 varieties), rockmelon, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, parsnips, strawberries, red cabbage, rhubarb, zucchini and beans. Some are nearly finished now. Just planted some more red and brown onions, some brussel sprouts and some chinese cabbage and broccoli.



This is a bit of the living area of our house. As you can see, it is not your normal conventional house!


These were found locally by an unknown local artist. My SO bought them for me.

I take my dogs for a walk every morning on a farm track. After some recent rains I was greeted by this beautiful sunrise made all the more special by the mist. I thought that I would share it with you.

We love our garden space in front, and both wish we had more time to keep it looking good, but work seems to get in the way!
