Is it a type of fruit..... I thought it was rather unusual as well as had such a vibrant colour.
If someone could help with ID please. 8)

Goodness, that does look interesting, Trrp. I do hope that someone can help you there.

I do enjoy the Kruger plants. This was taken at Lake Panic.

Good idea Trrp  . I am also now very curious :?. I went through all my field guides yesterday evening but I did not see a photo of such a fruit :hmz: They say in the field guides that wild cucumber fruits are on average the size of a chicken egg but that fruit in your photo looks much bigger :hmz:.

MM and Trrp the small critters without fail put a :) on my face. They are very 8).

It could be the Horn melon aka African horned cucumber Trrp which has it’s origins in The Kalahari and Africa. It is cultivated in New Zealand although considered invasive and a poisonous weed.
I agree GM, Trrp's fruit also looks bigger than the wild cucumber fruits /horned melon.
I doubt if I am going to rest until there is a poitive ID for this fruit.

Sweet :cam: of the little uns MM and Trrrp. Sometimes they can make a slow and monotonous day very worthwhile.

Mizzbee, GM.. just loving your commentary and participation.

I agree, Trrp, these are the moments I hold onto.

Dellac, enjoy the land of nod.

I took this while returning to Satara one late afternoon. The sun was giving the grass such a magical glow. I wished to hold onto it forever.

Today I would like to sit on a bench next to the Letaba river and spare a thought for those who need it. That river view always makes me think of the Cycle of Life.

Thanks to all who are following this thread :gflower:

I always enjoy the sight of hippos basking in the sun. Who ever could believe that these docile looking creatures are responsible for so many deaths?

GM, I have a feeling that this picture might have been taken close to Letaba.
