With the current heat wave most of the country is experiencing, I wouldn’t mind taking a dip in a pool to cool down. I doubt very much though, that I would want to share my swim with these fella’s.

This picture was taken on the S92 between Oliphants and Balule. It was said that people had been feeding the terrapins and when they heard a car approach they would beg for food. How sad.

This might be a bit more fun.

:)

I think you all know the a-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n standing outside one of Kruger’s gates waiting to enter. That will be good today on Valentine’s - entering the Kruger to be in the unspoilt nature and see the animals of the Kruger.

Those Ellies look as if they are having a "whale" of a time MM.

Weekend again and this time I am off to Oliphants. I have visited numerous times but I have never stayed there. That will change in August.
Right now, the week has left me exhausted and the heat has not helped either, so I am going to catch a couple of zzzzzzzzz’s while on the Oliphants lookout deck. Just like this little monkey.

Can relate to the heat as it really drains a person. :|

Trrp, it was at Klopperfontein. I sat for ages, all alone, watching a breeding herd of ellies have the time of their lives. Magic in every way.

Mizzbee, exhaustion is not cool at all.

This is another way to deal with it. Taken close to Olifants.

Tamboti is special indeed……after Balule  .

Last August I was lucky enough to have Unit No. 40 and this is part of the view form the tent.
Image

I will be there again in August but only for one night. I admit that I am a ‘wuss' when it comes to Tamboti. I have had heart in my throat moments walking back from the ablutions in the early hours with bright little eyes watching my every movement. I now treat myself to the ‘larney’ tents.

Yet, if I could only have obtained a booking for a tent with communal ablutions I would have done so. Tamboti keeps calling me back……

  ...Must admit Mizzbee the first time we went it really looked rather scary with narrow roads and long grass  ..but very happy that was short lived and became my no 1 camp.

Just love looking at rivers and streams.

This one has high embankments wonder how many birds have made their nests there :?:
