My avatar was chosen after I looked at the set of buffalo horns that is mounted on the wall of my office. The horns ere poached about 2km from Shingwedzi gate at 01H00 in the morning. It was during 1989.

I took the photo of mine about 4 years ago near Tshokwane. These birds amuse me immensely - I think of them as the transvestites of the bush

No, the Buff was probably eaten by lions but the horns were intact, so I decided to collect it late one night. You will have to wait for the full story which hopefully will appear in a book compiled by our own jeffgordon.

My Avatar is a photo I took of a Spotted Eagle-Owl. My forum name "ifubesi" is also the Xhoza name for this species of owl.

I´m a big Fan of Predators especially Lions and Leopards. The last one is my favorite animal. For me it is the perfekt kombination between beauty and power. But I don´t ahve a nice pic of a Leopard. Therefor I chose a nice Lion Pic. This one was taken 2006 in the Serengeti NP, which is therfor also a great reminder of a great Trip.

Chose mine because it reminds me of the Timbavati Road (S39) - one of my favourite roads in Kruger

Mine is a (cropped) pic of a leopard with only the eyes lit up, that my 10 year old son took on a night drive from Satara in 2007. My favourite beast and a reminder of a wonderful experience (my last trip to KNP).
