Mites, we have a musketeer in our midsts here; he does not even believe Sable exist in Kruger. I think he is off to Kruger soon'ish. Shall we put a tut together to help this chap?

Tips for Tut:
It needs to be basic :naughty:

Lets start with how many legs a Sable has.

A Sable has four (4) legs.

Hold up your hand W@H ... tuck in your thumb, and the fingers that stick up is four (4)

You know Dinkybird, we've been through all it with this young man a hundred times and have never gotten any positive results.

How about giving him tips on how to best DRIVE in KNP to give his SO sitting next to him the best opportunity possible to spot the Sable FOR him instead.....

He needs the eyes of a girl....

*cough* Who always spots the sable and roan in our car? :hmz:

What he needs is a spotter that actually spots them. Like me for instance. (Direct flight, business class please W@H)
And I happen to know where you will always find them. (Nice camp near it too, book that W@H?)

A very important point W & H, sable are very easy to spot - they don't have feet like an elephant - they have hooves !!!

Elizabeth - if those two springbokkies were on a rock, they would be klipspringers :hmz:

I have searched through the archives and have found a picture of a sable and it corresponds to all what you mites say
(!) it has4 legs
(2) it has 2 eyes
(3) it has 4 legs with feet that reach the ground
(4) it has horns
(5) it has naughty bits.. censored in this photo as its a family forum
(6) little ears if you look carefully
(7) it has a tail
(8) it has a black colour to its back ( cant put in the other colours as this is a very old photo so its in Ba=lack and white

Image
so here is your sable

Billyf, clearly Sable have evolved somewhat since this photo of Eliz. She did say it was taken in days of old :naughty:

It sort of matches......

Mind you, do not try to find it in trees! It is strictly groundbound, unlike elephants.

W@H suffers from a rare medical condition, SSMS aka Selective Sable miss Spotness...
It is caused by W@H having his head stuck in his coolbox.
This is not a sable or lack of sable issue.

Wee jy!

I've seen caracal, serval, cheetah .. hunting as well .. general game .. white tail mongoose, honey badger even Verraux Eagle (not owl) as well as a long tailed mongoose with a Martial Eagle backpack in KNP .. so clearly sticking my head in the cooler box works! And if Sable were in KNP .. I would have seen them as well .. :P
