Good to see you again Heksie. Glad to hear that you had a fab time.

Ryt guys, now it is time for a very special sighting which my dad wanted to see for years and years and eventually his wish came true. Almost everyone normally has a predator in their wishlist which they really want to see and cannot see it over years of trips, like me I really want to see WILD DOGS. My Daddy always wanted to see a Giraffe Drinking Water and this day it came true at Kanniedood Dam bird hide where after 30 mins of no activity, these guys arrived, and my dad was really over whelmed. It was a special and rare sighting for us.

In the above pic, the Giraffes arrived out of no where.



In the pic above the Giraffes were looking around to make sure there were NO PREDATORS around trying to take advantage.



Than the one mate decided to come to the front to have the first drink.



While the others were Body Guards awaiting there turn to drink.

Hope you guys like the pics, although the pics are not of the best quality but this sighting is one of my best in Kruger and it is at number 1 for my Daddy.

So when are we seeing some of your spectaculare kiekies? you know that is one of the highlights of our Mondays

What wonderful kiekies Kallis!!!! they are spectacular animals we saw them bend forward to lick saltrocks this weekend as well as one chewing on a bone and it was absolutely fantastic

Thank you for the kind words It really is special how they have to bend down soo much just to lick salt rocks or drink water, and even the legs. Really is a special sighting, and they are wonderful animals.

@Kallis: Great pics!! I've had some great sightings with my parents. Took a video of a drinking giraffe in the Orpen area once - will try to find and post it later.

You know that bone chewing gerry? Well I now have a pic of him with HUGE amounts of saliva drooping down from his head to the grass He has some kind of an eating disorder
