I read the trip reports before I joined. My commitment to stalking the TT's was uncanny  I knew the personalities on the forum before I joined
I especially loved the trip report of Wendy's "Confirmed campers report".
I wanted to join to comment on the trip reports and write my own

I also wanted to know the best routes to drive :hmz:

I had gone onto the SANparks website to book a holiday, and noticed the webcams.
Dungie and I had great fun watching them for a week or so, and then I noticed the link to the forums!!
That was my downfall!!!

My mom started "hogging" my pc to watch the webcams and then discovered the forum... I then got curious about all the people she was constantly telling me about and why on earth she sometimes sat with such a big grin whilst reading. I just had to see for myself!

I joined because I am an addict. and constantly need a fix. A real junkie. I fall asleep at night in bed with my cellphone in hand watching the webcams, and do enjoy seeing what my fellow addicts have on their mind (their next fix I would hope)!! :D

We were struggling to get a booking in the Kruger and one Saturday I called central reservations and they told me that Tsendze was the only camp with availability, I booked immediately not knowing where Tsendze was situated. I then went on to the internet and typed in Tsendze, clicked on the link and found myself reading peoples trip reports, looking at the most amazing photos and I was hooked. I tried to register a few times but something was "wrong" with our internet. Eventually I managed to join. I love the forums, they keep me informed of what is happening in the Kruger, I am in touch with fellow bush lovers and when reading the trip reports it makes the "home sickness" bearable.

Is it my imagination or are 66% plus of the forumites female? If one looks at the forum names and the way in which some answer posts, then I must be right. I first watched the webcams but then checked out the rest of the forum and joined. To me it is the communication about things we all love and to learn something new hence my hundreds of posts in the Quizzies section.

I have made my name 'krokodil' many times but I think that I have also made some positive contributions. So, why have I joined the forum? Look at what this forum is all about and what it means to us and you will understand why we have not left the forum.

Little did I know when I saw a Kruger Park times in our local Spar that my life was about to change.

I was homesick for the bush and was very surprised to see this bush paper in the middle of Joburg. They had an article on the new webcam at Kruger. My children helped me find the site

I did not know how to register, I did not know how to find it once shut down

I have come a long, long way. Love for the bush forced me to be more computer friendly. I would run and look to see what was happening.

I found the webcams by accident and was hooked!
Then I started reading the trip reports and knew exactly where to go when I wanted to plan our first visit

On my last trip during last year I saw these special people driving around the park with these yellow ribbons on there cars .
Thought they had special privileges with sightings .After talking to one of the ranger at Lower sabie he told me that these people are the Kruger Addicts and they have a forum as well

And walla I'm still here and a addict

I wanted to find out everything about Kruger and all these people from all over the world seemed to have the answers I was looking for...

Incidentally my love of Kruger has grown, my respect for SANParks and all they do for conservation in South Africa has grown, my interest in all things wild (both in SA and at home in the UK) has grown and my circle of friends has grown.

So a friend told me about this webcams of Krugs and I fished around and found this wonderful site with such beautiful souls that are just as crazy about the bush as me :w:
I first only checked the webcams but then wanted to highlight my own pics and join the webcam sightings posts. So I joined and I have never regretted a single moment! :)

My wife's family have a house in Marloth Park, so when the floods in January this year happened, I went looking for information on how bad the damage to the area was. Happened across the forums and the rest, as they say, is history.
