Afrikaans, but only speak English at home, cos my SO does not understand a word of Afrikaans. I also speak some French, because I worked accross Africa my whole life.

My So (Rock Bokkie) speaks English and Bemba (Zambian).

I suppose when you're upset, you can say some choice things in Afrikaans to her, Bundi?

I was born and bred in UK, on the English/South Wales border. However this area is not Welsh speaking in the main, so I grew up only speaking English.

I studied French at Advanced level at school, and I can just about get by when I need to.

As I spend six months each year in SA these days, I am now teaching myself to speak Afrikaans. (all help gratefully accepted!!)

I grew up in an English speaking home, but when I moved to Bloemfontein I had to learn to speak Afrikaans very quickly, did that by reading lots of Afrikaans library books, and tried not to be shy of speaking it to Afrikaans people, learned to speak it pretty quickly, with a few very embarrassing moments in the process
