Just wondering. What some haven't seen, others have, so it is there. BUT: Is there any animal reported to be in the park that you are likely never to see in your life?

I haven't seen a porcupine for years but was fortunate enough to see a pangolin which is a rare sighting.

I think one would be extremely lucky to see an aardvark. Although I did see one on our farm growing up, I've never seen one in Kruger - as nighttime travel is more restricted, I wonder how often they are spotted there?

I haven't seen an Aardwolf in the park. Has anyone seen one hunting?

Almost remember somebody on this forum said that they have seen one around (on the webcam perhaps). I haven't seen one myself so I don't know. They aren't listed on the more visible mammals list because they probably aren't easy to see, being nocturnal.

this also shows that their habitat extends into kruger.

You tend to concentrate on the stuff you know - the "zoo animals" - not thinking that maybe you just drove past a rare animal.
I HATE stuff hiding from me! Won't hurt them, promise.

Seeing one is probably akin to getting 5 numbers in the lotto. I have seen one in the day when we stayed on the farm about 6 years ago. You'd have to be extremely lucky to see one in Kruger methinks.

There are a couple of animals on this list which I have never heard of never mind seeing. But I would like to see all of them sometime during my life!

I have friends who were in the park in January and saw a brown hyena near Pretoriuskop. They know there animals, so I take their word for it that it is indeed correctly identified.
My rarest sighting was of a striped polecat - near Mlondozi Dam.

Something I would never have believed if I hadn't seen it while surfing the net, is a leopard attacking and killing a croc.
