And at long last, my SO started to work in Hazyview yesterday ... at this moment I still have my job, but from December I'm going to be a caretaker/cook/childminder/teacher/travel agent/housemaid/nurse and oh, companion. O my, I'm exhausted already

I'm back to work(been 6 months on the government dole ) for a company I worked for 10 years ago. The work is the same (plumbing service technician) and there are some familiar faces still there, altho somewhat more wrinkled with age, as with all of us old timers.

I'm a Registered Nurse and look after an elderly Gentleman in his home. He is 95yrs old He is able to feed and dress himself.I've recently started bathing him. I'm also his chauffer, companion and Housekeeper. Nursingwise I give him his medication 2x day.

I'm also the caretaker of his block of apartments and shops that is next door to the house. I deal with people who come to repair anything that is broken in the building like plumbers, electricians,Builders, treefellers, a domestic and a gardener/handyman.
I've even learnt how to fix a toilet, change a tap washer, and change a door lock!!!

I do get paid for this!!!
I get four weeks paid leave a year, which I usually spend in paradise (KNP) and Sabie Sands with my elderly dad!! (from 1 old man to another---I must be nuts!!!

Was formerly in tourism but now make Thermoplastic Polyurethane in a factory in Cape Town (soon to be in Wellington). Mostly goes to the mines but have also been involved in launching the Whedg-it, a SA invented product made out of polyurethane that prevents things falling over or rolling around in your car/bakkie/boat If it is as successful as it could be I hope to be able to spend more than just the annual shut down period in the KTP or Kruger.

LOL!!! actually i just need more coffee and a brain-booster thingy to keep info somewhere stuck in my head for exams coming up friday, tuesday and wednesday and it's going mad-house crazy-etc-etc-etc at work. so i need to be awake but i need some sleep too.....

Sleep is the first priority, WFG, as the boosters only keep you up until your body decides it's time to shut you down. Drugs are a money-making racket!

I'm a secretary for insurance assessors. and studying insurance too. and wondering why the hell i'm doing it too!!!

To give yourself insurance for your future, obviously!

Thanx OWN. Even though insurance is not exactly what i would like to do for a living till i'm an old tannie walking on crutches and whatnot..... but for the meantime it can work and i suppose i would be able to use it in the future. actually i want to go in the hospitality industry.... you know have a game farm lodge and restaurant and so on. that combines a lot of my interests: wildlife- hospitality-tourism- cooking. But one day - I'll be there. I must just keep on dreaming and saving and all that

the "drugs" i know is just a money-making scheme but sometimes it helps in the short-term. like now being up till when studying and little sleep and then rush around at work and then stress levels sky-high . it can work till next wednesday when exams are over -then i can just chill and get enough sleep and all those normal things.
You might get me out of the bush, but you won't get the bush out of me, it's deep in my heart

Hi All

I'm a horticultural student at UNISA and I'm an intern at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. When I finish horticulture a want to do botany at UWC and specialise in plant taxonomy.
Ask not what your plant can do for you but what you can do for your planet.
