I know a lot of photographers, from armature to semi pro that use both the 7D and 5D II and III. for birds and wildlife go for the 7D because of the crop factor, landscape portraiture go for 5D. Also a one other thing, a FF sensor will bring in a lot more light that a crop sensor and therefore you will find you can use the 5D in darker conditions than the 7D. the ISO and noise control on a 5D will be better than the 7D.

I was in exactly the same boat as you last year and went with the 7D. never looked back..I have used the 5DIII and it is a machine!!! the images from that camera a crazy scary and on a different level to the 7D. but for for Kruger go for the 7D with good glass and you will be sorted for a few years to come .
