Unread postby Meandering Mouse » Sat Apr 03, 2010 8:50 pm

When I connect to a picture, I connect to an emotion.

A few from my last trip.

MM

Photography to a lot is, putting a frame around a pic, the sharp edges on a object, the manupilation of colour.

Your pics speak a hundred words.

Interesting thread.
I think that emotion in a photo is very important but sometimes difficult to convey to others.

A few months ago, I took a photo of 2 elephants in a zoo playing. There was a small lake in their enclosure, and a pipe was coming out of it and squirting the eles which were having a fantastic time in the water.
I must have spent 1/2 hour snapping away.

A few weeks later I entered one of the photos in a camera club competition. My photo got totally ripped apart. All the technical issues/faults were highlighted (animals too dark in relation to the back round etc etc). But the judge (and fellow camera club members) didn't get what I was trying to convey. No one picked up the fun element of the image.

Thanks
Yoda
