What a trip! awd, leopards galore, cheetah, lions etc...with car trouble like this, who wants a smooth ride?
Waiting for report and pics. don't keep us agonising.

Only JUST returned last night, after a wet, cold 2 weeks in London and am still very jet lagged, so it will be a while before I get organised to begin writing a report. Also have 7000+ pix to sort through (as well as 26 hours of video ), although that includes my 3 weeks in Cape Town, but most are KNP. So please be patient and I'll be as quick as I can.

PS Mucho thanks to Jumbo and Freda for posting my intermittent sightings. Altho, as Freda had guessed, I had some mixed feeling about "connecting" because one of the things I enjoy about KNP is being totally cut off from the outside world, we were in touch in any case because of coordinating our meets, and it was fun sharing my experiences with them both — and with the forum.

Right about the leopard, at least that it was a male


but wrong about the klipspinger as it wasn't anywhere near the Olifants lookout. I saw it on the S47, and it's still the only one I've ever seen

MANY pix (and video) of the whole tusker, Jose, and I really understand now how you feel about "your" special ellie. I can't begin to tell you how special my 3rd encounter with this one was, just the most amazing experience ever!

Also great to meet you and Francois and your SOs. I've got LOTS of trip reports to be writing and masses of pix to sort through, but it will be fun to relive all the adventures. Our morning at Rondevlei couldn't have been a better start

Yip, it's a somewhat daunting prospect Also, you'll note that I ended up needing (many) more than the 21 videotapes that I took with me ... had bought a couple spares in the park, but had a bit of a panic during my last week in KNP when I realised that I was going to run out and then all of the park shops I tried (Olifants, Letaba, Satara) were out of stock So I ended up making a trip into Phalaborwa, where I not only found some tapes, but they were half the price — not just half the price of those in the park, but actually lots less than I'd seen tapes anywhere in SA!

Thanks for the warm welcome back!! I've uploaded all the pix onto the computer, but in total there are @10,000 (I forgot to count in the point-and-shoot ones ), so it's going to take me some time to sort through them and organise them. I'll try to dig out a few of "my" ellie — who I think is likely Timaka — and some of my leopards for Jose and Jumbo

And in addition to KNP, I also have to report on WCNP, Cape Point and Boulders ... And it's gonna take me some time to organise my thoughts, as well as my pix.

Been meaning to ask about this for ages....Arks, I didnt know that there were new riverfront bungalows at L.S. Were the old ones renovated or are these completely new? What are they like?

I know that this should be in another thread but when I clicked on "quote" it only gave me this option. Sorry Mods, you're welcome to move it.

They're actually rennovated, but quite substantially so, and I've already written about them someplace else. Have a look here, about halfway down the page. The rennovated bungalows are really nice!
