The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

Received from Arks this morning:

Arks wrote: G’day from a VERY windy #9 {at Olifants}, where I am enjoying a leisurely 1st last morning before heading to Tamboti. Tents may be “fun” in this wind.
I saw another leopard early Sunday on the S44 and later my 1st ever klipspringer.
Also had 2nd meeting with same potential big tusker. Thanks to Jose for the tips on how to ID ellies by the ear notches and holes  – so I knew it was the same one I’d seen 2 days before.
My day ended with a Paradise Whydah – another first for me

Any bets that I know both of them? GP was chatting with a couple of people a few days back that had the same sightings, and I put in that it was a male leopard. The people were a bit  as I was correct. And the klipspringers are at Olifants lookout, on the Olifants side.
Arriving currently: The photos from our trip! Overhere! :yaya:

That means they've moved as they can usually be found on the other side of the lookout point (about 1km down the S44 from the lookout point).

Arks (at Tamboti) says 'It's windy and raining steadily, but #40 is cozy, I've put on my warmest clothes and will wrap myself in a blanket and curl up with a book.
The deck is awash, but it's interesting to see Kruger in the rain :)
No significant sightings today, just more faraway lions - only saw ears. Baboons passing in the riverbed just now - lots of them! But too wet outside for me  '

Hope she has better weather tomorrow.

A warm blanket, a nice glass of wine and listening to the raindrops on tentroof no 40. Sounds wonderful.

Do hope the weather clears up tomorrow though.

Oeps! I received an sms from Arks on 01 May while she was at Tamboti. It was in two parts and I only read the last one…only noticed it now. Rather late than never…here is her message  ( more or less the same as the one Freda got).

Arks wrote:Saw jackals and many vultures at what had been a cheetahs’ kill, but no cheetahs. :(
Also more faraway lions on the S39, saw ears but not much else.
Need to unpack all my warm clothes and grab extra blankets – it’s COLD! But it’s gorgeous and I’ll hope to hear the lions tonight :D

I haven’t heard from her again after the 1st….think she is enjoying herself too much to bother with the cell phone
