How awesome......................................and I mean awe... in the deepest sense of the word. A lovely quote from "Jock'', so very, very appropriate. These are memories that linger forever. You are not having a holiday, but an experience.

sigh

Wonderful experience, how lucky you cancelled your original booking.

I particularly enjoyed your "did you know" facts about red-wing starlings and vervets a couple of pages back as both species frequent my garden and it's interesting to learn something new about them.

After a good night rest, we were up early to see the sunrise from the entertainment deck.

Patatjie and I sat quietly on the deck drinking coffee and watched as the sun slowly rises.

As we left the camp on our early morning game drive, I took this photo of Patatjie. It was very cold that morning.

Even the rhinos were trying to get warm in the morning sun.

The calf of a White Rhino always walks in-front off his mother. When he is still young, the mother of the calf will steer him softly with her horn.

Lazarus took us back to the spot where we saw the Wild Dogs. It did not take us long to find the dogs playing in the grass.

The video was taken with a cell phone and the quality is not the best.

Did You Know? :hmz:
Wild Dogs have the most structured social order of the carnivores, living in packs led by a dominant male and female.

The spot were we came across the Wild Dogs was far away from the camps which meant that we were all alone with the dogs.

The video was taken with a cell phone and the quality is not the best.

Did You Know? :hmz:
There are an estimated 250 wild dogs in the Kruger, so seeing them is a matter of luck.

What wonderful pictures. 8) I know how cold it can be on the open vehicles so my heart goes out to Patatjie.

I am afraid that I cannot watch the video :( but I will try later with another 3G device. This one tends to get stubborn with some videos.

Such a beautiful sunrise. How lovely to be up with the fresh dawn - even if it is freezing on the open vehicle.
