Day 10 - 12th October - Continued

Today was a moving day as we where departing Grootkolk with mixed feelings and heading south towards Nossob for the next few nights. We hit the t junction outside and turned the van right on our way. As per normal we had no idea what to expect sightings wise but we knew is was a fairly long drive.

As we reached the first waterhole SO told me to stop. I could not see anything and we were about 500m from the waterhole. She took her camera out and I still could not see what see was looking at. Glad she has good eye sight (looks like Grootkolk male out on patrol).

anne-marie – the cheetah with the limp did not look to serious but yes it was struggling. Lucky I did not run over the puffy he was really small. Yes Grootkolk is still special.

Carol g – not to worry snakes are not my favourite either but still nice to get photos.

Famkok – glad you enjoying the thread and thank you so much for the snake ID.

Tobieo – Thank you very much for the nice comments. My wife has improved over the years but still away to go. 100% the warthog were very scarce and difficult to shoot.

GavinW – the cheetah sighting was great and lots more to come.

Trrp-trrrrrrrr – the sunsets were great but must say difficult to capture. The wildebeest were very alert and it was them that made us look for predator.

Pumbaa – Thank you for nice comments and nice to see that you like the variety.

Hilda – thank you and he is indeed a really big male. You are correct about the bees but guess we just got unlucky and hope you see warthog in April but they are not easy to find. Regarding the bees not much we could do which was a little frustrating.

Meandering Mouse – 100% agree when you see puffy you can easily forget they are dangerous. Glad you enjoying the photos. SO’s sting got quite bad, but guess we were just unlucky as it was spring.

Gatita – thank you and I agree about sound. I thought about taking video the camera has the function but not really our thing. Need to practice I guess. Yes warthog at Lijersdraai.

Cheetahlady – Thank you for the nice comment and only too happy to share.

Goronta – More to come as requested and really happy to share. Hope you continue to enjoy.

Barryels – Glad you still enjoying the report and the photos. You should have no problem with the bees I believe it is only a problem on late spring.

SurfCindy – It sometimes takes a while to catch up so I understand. glad you are still on board.

Lionspoon – Can you believe the bees chased us away from the king. But as you will see he was fantastic to us later on. I could not agree more about what you say about mother nature but he really is a fantastic looking male.

Jan van Wyk – Thank you very much for the nice comments but sometimes nature provides the perfect opportunity even for us amateurs. Yes I think I will get enlarged for the wall.

Cape of Storms – Thank you very much.

Philip1 – Glad you enjoyed the 23 pages and I promise more to come.

We were at Grootkolk Nov 1, my husband did get stung by one wasp at the sink, but they weren't bad. We did put out a birdbath, no problems with it.

Great photos!
