Now for the last trip we did from the 15th to the 27th of August. I must admit that this was one of the best trips we had in a very long time. When you have overseas guests in your vehicle, the pressure is always very high to show them at least a lion. Well, needless to say, they were extremely happy by the time we left for Cape Town after the first part of our trip.

Anybody who can help me in how to post the video so it doesn't go to Tinypics?

What… a Serval?

Back at camp an African Wildcat came to visit at our campsite and the lions and hyenas had another go at each other right in front of our site at the fence

Nee man, dit is 'n tierboskat

(No Petra it's a serval) you lucky so-and-so.

On the other hand, luck had nothing to do with it, being in the park every other day however

That is so true Avon vosloo, we are really lucky to be able to be in the park so much... but hey, somebody must show visitors from abroad what SANParks has to offer. We took a :cam: of a quote in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront that describes exactly how me and Scipio feels about Africa and RSA.

I know this pic was not taken in any SANParks, so Mods, if I am out of line, please remove.

The next day we had to continue on our journey as we were to sleep in Phalaborwa that evening and fly to Cape Town the next day. We still had some nice sightings for the last day…

And then for old times’ sake…
Image

Image

In Cape Town we spend some time at Boulders and were very happy to find some Penguins.
Image

Image

One of our friends returned especially to see them, as the last time she was here, it was too hot (November) and they were all hiding away in the shade.
Image

This worm was in the pathway. We took some pictures and continue on our way. On the way back (about 5 minutes later… he was no more…). I realised how many people do not watch where they are walking …

Sadly this is the end for now. Our next trip is going to be a couple of day visits during September, so stay tuned for that.

Thank you for all that read through this TR, your comments are really appreciated. :k :gflower:

During the September holidays, I worked at Crocodile Bridge camp in assisting at the gate. We didn't drive around much as the gate was quite busy, but being in the bush and helping where we could were really great.
We did however see some great animals and enjoyed every moment in the park.

On the way to Crocodile Bridge before I started working, we found this beauty

As we were taking down our tent, I saw something which I originally thought was one of my SO’s daughter toys. At first I couldn’t understand why I didn’t notice it being there in the first place as she was not with us this holiday. As I bend down to pick it up, it suddenly moved and gave me such a scare I think the whole camp heard me…. This is what were inside the tent.

And as we drove to Phabeni gate, this fellow were the last of the felines we saw for the holiday.
